HEAD WEEK is an intense marketing and awareness campaign that is specifically designed to inform and influence Central Brooklyn community in the areas of financial education, health education awareness and business empowerment. Utilizing every vehicle of communication that is available, HEAD WEEK will execute a campaign that connects with the broad demography within the African- Caribbean-Latino-American communities that will culminate with a well-publicized week of activities and a Health Conference , incorporating a wide cross-section of participants - corporations, churches, government agencies, civic organizations, media, schools and other institutions with interest.
To maximize economic, health and socio-medical knowledge, this will serve to increase productivity and a broader engagement among Blacks, Latinos and other underrepresented populations in the NYC Metropolitan area.
1. To raise general awareness regarding socio-medical matters and increase the level of chronic illness self-management within the cultural diaspora of the African- and Caribbean-American communities.
2. To develop a therapeutic curriculum and health resource outreach program that will be tailored to the specific demographics as well as the age, religion, ethnic and gender diversity that will communicate with the broadest possible cross-section within this community.
3. Create forums and avenues of communication that will harness the scattered energy and dormant power in the community, and work to engage youth, children and families in health alternatives, lifestyle growth and development, nutritional counseling.
